Brugse Zot dubbel – 750ml

8.99

Bruges Zot Dubbel is the darker variety of Brugse Zot (“The Fool of Bruges” in Flemish). It’s a little heavier than its blonde cousin, but is fermented with the same yeast and also in the De Halve Maan Brewery in the historic town of Bruges. Dubbel is brewed with six special kinds of malt, which give this beer its rich taste and brown-reddish colour. The world renowned Czech Saaz hop from Zatec brings a unique bitter note to this delicious beer.

Rich aromas of honey, almond and chocolate are present. On the palate, roasted malts, caramel and coffee are apparent. It’s a medium bodied, well rounded Belgium beer, with a full warm mouthfeel and a bitter, hoppy finish. Despite its depth, it has a surprisingly crisp finish.

This craft beer won the silver medal at the Brewing Industry International Awards in 2011, one of the most prestigious brewing competitions in the world. Do yourself a favour and serve Bruges Zot Dubbel in a large tulip glass to enjoy it at its very best.
